Personal Information We Collect

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person — for example, your name, phone number, address, and email address. We collect personal data about you from a variety of sources, described below.

2.1 Information You Provide to Us

This is the personal data you provide directly — for example, when you complete the Delegate Registration Form, register for a workshop, sign up for event updates, opt in to the delegate or sponsor list, or contact our Organising Committee. This may include:

  • Full name, title, date of birth, and gender
  • Job title, organisation/firm, and professional body or registration number
  • Postal address, mobile/WhatsApp number, and email address
  • Nationality and, where applicable, diaspora status
  • Professional category (e.g. Advocate, Developer, Banker, Government Official, Valuer)
  • Dietary requirements and accessibility needs
  • Session preferences and areas of interest
  • Payment-related information such as Mobile Money transaction references or bank payment confirmations (we do not store full financial account details — see Section 5)
  • Any other information you voluntarily provide on the Registration Form or in correspondence with us

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you visit www.lrecglobal.co.ug or interact with our digital registration and ticketing pages, certain information is collected automatically through standard log files and analytics tools — your IP address, browser type, device type, Internet Service Provider, referring/exit pages, date and time stamps, and pages visited. This information, on its own, is not linked to any personally identifiable data.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

We may receive information about you from our co-organising partners (AREA, Uganda Law Society, Lawpoint Uganda), from corporate sponsors submitting group/table registrations on your behalf, from Mobile Money providers (Airtel Money, MTN MoMo) confirming payment, or from professional bodies validating CPD/CLE membership status.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To process your delegate, sponsor, or workshop registration and confirm your seat
  • To verify and reconcile Mobile Money or bank payments against your registration
  • To issue CLE/CPD certificates of participation following the Conference
  • To communicate essential Conference logistics — venue updates, agenda changes, joining instructions
  • To compile an anonymised or consented delegate list for networking and sponsor lead-matching
  • To send you the Conference programme, sponsor materials, and the Law & Real Estate Magazine
  • To respond to your enquiries submitted by phone, WhatsApp, or email
  • To send future updates about the Conference and related Baylor Global Real Estate events, where you have consented
  • To maintain accurate financial and attendance records as required by Ugandan law

3.1 Legal Basis for Processing

Our legal basis for collecting and using your personal information depends on the context:

  • We need to perform a contract with you (e.g. to deliver the Conference you registered and paid for)
  • You have given permission to do so (e.g. opting in to marketing updates)
  • Processing is in our legitimate interests (e.g. event safety, fraud prevention, sponsor matchmaking) and does not strongly impact your rights
  • We need to comply with the law (e.g. tax, AML, and event licensing obligations in Uganda)

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out here. As a general rule, registration and payment records are retained for seven (7) years to satisfy financial and tax record-keeping requirements in Uganda; marketing preferences are retained until you withdraw consent.

Who We Share Your Information With

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with the following categories of recipients, strictly for the purposes set out in this Policy:

  • Co-organising and accrediting partners — AREA, Uganda Law Society, and Lawpoint Uganda — for CPD/CLE verification and joint event delivery
  • The Méstil Hotel & Residences, for venue access, catering (including dietary requirements), and accommodation coordination
  • Corporate sponsors and exhibitors, limited to anonymised attendance statistics or, where you have explicitly consented, a delegate contact list for B2B networking
  • Payment service providers, including Airtel Money and MTN Mobile Money, solely to confirm and reconcile your registration payment
  • Service providers acting on our behalf, such as our email and WhatsApp Business communication providers, website host, and event registration platform
  • Regulatory, tax, or law enforcement authorities, where disclosure is required by Ugandan law

Each of these third parties processes your information in accordance with their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

Payment Information

Registration fees may be paid via Airtel Money, MTN MoMo Pay, or bank transfer. We do not have access to, and do not store, your full Mobile Money PIN, bank account credentials, or card details. We only receive a payment confirmation, transaction reference number, and the amount paid, which we use solely to reconcile your registration.

If you are registering a Table of 5 or a corporate group package, the contact person submitting payment is responsible for accurately conveying this Privacy Policy to all named delegates on that booking.

Cookies and Website Analytics

Like most event websites, www.lrecglobal.co.ug uses cookies to provide a better browsing experience, remember your registration progress, and for basic statistical purposes. Cookies are small text files stored on your device.

  • Session cookies, to keep your registration form data intact as you move between pages
  • Analytics cookies, to understand how visitors use our site and improve the registration experience
  • No third-party advertising cookies are used on www.lrecglobal.co.ug

You can accept or decline cookies through your browser settings. Declining cookies may, however, prevent you from completing online registration.

Children’s Privacy

The Law & Real Estate Conference 2026 is a professional event intended for legal practitioners, real estate professionals, financial institutions, and government officials. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@lrecglobal.co.ug and we will take prompt steps to remove it.

Your Data Protection Rights

Whether you are a resident of Uganda, a member of the East African diaspora, or a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), you have certain rights in relation to your personal data, including the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Rectification — request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal retention obligations
  • Restriction — request that we limit the way we use your data
  • Objection — object to our processing, including for direct marketing
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw previously given consent at any time, free of charge

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@lrecglobal.co.ug or +256 794 987 591. We will respond to all legitimate requests within thirty (30) days. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling your request.

Data Security

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the personal information we collect and process. Access to the Delegate Registration database is restricted to authorised members of the Organising Committee. While we strive to protect your personal information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

International Data Transfers

As the Conference welcomes diaspora delegates and international sponsors, your personal information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in a country other than the one in which you reside, including Uganda, where our servers and Organising Committee are based. Where required, we put in place appropriate safeguards to ensure your information remains protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, particularly as the Conference date approaches and registration, sponsorship, or logistical arrangements evolve. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised Effective Date. We encourage delegates and partners to review this Policy periodically, especially in the two weeks leading up to the Conference.
